Jules Blangenois
Jules Blangenois (born April 28, 1870 in Doornick , † July 29, 1957 in Brussels ) was a Belgian trombonist , composer and conductor . He also composed under the pseudonym Banon Jemy.
Jules Blangenois attended the Doornick Music School as a child. He completed a music degree at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with the main subjects trombone and harmony . His professors included Flon, Rulhmann and Paul Gilson .
For eleven years he was first trombonist at the Muntschouwburg in Brussels. In 1896 he became a lecturer in tuba and trombone at the Verviers Conservatory . During this time he performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Belgium and France. He has also played in the opera orchestras of Ghent , Belgium and Lyon , France and as solo trombonist in the Musique de Garde Civique in Elsene , Belgium. In 1930 he gave up teaching at Verviers. He has written several articles about wind orchestras and their music in various newspapers and magazines, including La Revue Musicale Belge . He has conducted numerous wind orchestras, including the Cercle Instrumental fanfare orchestra in Brussels.
