Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau (born September 20, 2001 in Quincy-sous-Sénart ) is a French snowboarder . She starts in snowboard cross. At the 2018 Olympic Games , she won the silver medal in this discipline.
Career
Pereira de Sousa Mabileau competed in the European Cup for the first time at the beginning of the 2016/17 season in Pitztal and finished 33th and 21st. In the further course of the season she came in third, three times in second and won the European Cup races in Grasgehren and Lenk . She thus achieved first place in the overall snowboard cross ranking. She made her debut in the Snowboard World Cup in February 2017 in Feldberg , which she finished in 23rd place. This was followed by three placements in the points and 20th place overall in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2017 in Klínovec , she won the bronze medal in the individual and the gold medal together with Manon Petit in the team competition. In the 2017/18 season she achieved her first podium finishes in the World Cup with third place in Cervinia and Feldberg and eighth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup at the end of the season. At the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the silver medal in February 2018. The following year she finished 11th at the World Championships in Park City .
