Julie Plec (born May 26, 1972 ) is an American writer and producer. She wrote the "Hunter Trilogy" within the youth book series Diary of a Vampire after Lisa Jane Smith had published her last book, Diary of a Vampire - Hunt in the Sunset, her last book in this series. The "Hunter Trilogy" is the sequel to Lisa Jane Smith's books. Julie Plec also wrote the scripts for the television series Vampire Diaries and the series The Tomorrow People . She was a co-producer on the Kyle XY mystery series .
