Julie Skinner (* 23. April 1968 in Calgary , Alberta as Julie Sutton ) is a Canadian curler .

Skinner made her international debut in 1988 at the Junior World Championship , which she and her team finished as the winner. At the 1991 World Cup in Winnipeg , Skinner played in the position of skip and won the silver medal. In 2000 she played again at a World Cup, this time in third and won the world title.

Skinner represented Canada at the 1992 Albertville Winter Games . With her team she won the bronze medal, which however has no official status as curling was still a demonstration sport at that time. In 2001 Skinner won the Canadian Olympic Curling Trails with her team and represented Canada with her team at the XIX. Winter Olympics in curling. She won the Olympic bronze medal with her team on February 21, 2002 after a 9-5 win over the United States to Skip Kari Erickson .

Her sister Jodie , who at times played on a team with Julie, was also a successful curler.
