Burkhardswalde-Munzig was a municipality in the district of Meißen , Saxony , its districts are now part of Klipphausen in the new district of Meißen .

The community Burkhardswalde-Munzig was south of Meißen in the Meißner highlands and in the valley of the Triebisch . Neighboring communities were Miltitz and initially, until it was incorporated into Taubenheim, also Sönitz in the north and Taubenheim, and initially until it was incorporated into Klipphausen , Sora in the east. To the south bordered Limbach (after its incorporation part of Wilsdruff ), Blankenstein (after its incorporation part of Helbigsdorf ) and Tanneberg , to the west was neighboring Heynitz .

On January 1, 1973 Burkhardswalde and Munzig merged to form the new community; The districts of Groitzsch and Schmiedewalde , which had been part of Burkhardswalde since July 1, 1950, were also part of the district . In 1990 Burkhardswalde-Munzig had 1,124 inhabitants. During the GDR era, the community was part of the Meissen district and thus the Dresden district .

On March 1st, 1994 the municipalities of Burkhardswalde-Munzig, Garsebach and Miltitz merged to form the municipality of Triebischtal , which was joined by Tanneberg on January 1st, 1999 and Taubenheim on November 1st, 2003. Since July 1st 2012, Burkhardswalde and Munzig belong to Klipphausen.
