Julien Simon-Chautemps
Julien Simon-Chautemps (born May 14, 1978 ) is a French motorsport engineer. Since 2017 he is racing engineer of Sauber Motorsport - Formula 1 -Mannschaft.
Career
Simon-Chautemps is a graduate of the Institut polytechnique des sciences avancées (2002), where he studied aeronautics and space travel. He began his career in Formula 2 as technical director of Prema Powerteam from 2003 to 2007 and in the GP2 series at Trident Racing . In 2007 he started in Formula 1 as a race engineer for Italian driver Jarno Trulli in Toyota Racing and then as Lotus . In 2011 he joined the Renault Sport F1 Team and works with Vitaly Petrov . From 2012 to 2015 he worked for the Lotus F1 team and worked with Kimi Räikkönen , Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean . In 2016 he joined the Renault Sport F1 Team and became an engineer for Jolyon Palmer . Julien Simon-Chautemps joined Sauber Motorsport in 2017 and became an engineer from Marcus Ericsson .
