Juliet is a song by the British - Australian singer Robin Gibb , who became famous as a member of the Bee Gees together with his brothers Maurice and Barry . The song was released in April 1983 in the UK and in May 1983 in the rest of Europe and the US as a single . He was also featured on Gibbs album How Old Are You? released.

Emergence

The piece was composed and produced by Robin and Maurice Gibb . The recordings took place from October to November 1982 in the Middle Ear Studio in Miami Beach .

Publication and reception

After its release in April 1983, Juliet became a hit especially in continental Europe. The single reached number one in Germany , Switzerland and Italy and number two in Austria . In the Netherlands with number 14 and Belgium with number seven, the song reached high chart positions. Juliet was ranked 94 in the UK and 70 in Australia.

The piece was also released in 1985 on a 7 ″ EP with three other songs by Gibb on the GDR label Amiga . Robin Gibb sang the song on December 17, 1983 at Thommy's Pop Show in the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund .

Music video

The plot of the video shows Gibb both in a historical love story during a civil war and in the framework in which he writes this story. He writes the plot in which he plays the main character in an abandoned castle on an old typewriter. In the love story, he saves his beloved from captivity after successfully fighting her guardian in a tent with a stabbing weapon.
