The Julius-Echter-Gymnasium (JEG) is a linguistic high school as well as an economics and social science high school with a social science profile in Elsenfeld in the northern district of Miltenberg . For its projects in the field of language teaching, it received the sponsorship award from the Foundation Bildungspakt Bayern Center of Excellence from 2005 to 2008 - a center for school quality in the linguistic and literary field. Since August 1, 2009, the JEG has been a MODUS school for five years and since July 2010 it has also been a cooperation school of the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

The school is located on the eastern edge of the Elsenfeld market in the Miltenberg district in Lower Franconia (previously: Obernburg district ) and is located in the same building as the Elsenfeld secondary school.
Projects, trips, exchanges
Regular projects are the literary quartet, the theater subscription of the Stadttheater Aschaffenburg for the upper level, addiction prevention days in the lower level, trips to Weimar and Buchenwald (9th year), to Amrum (7th year), to Burg Rothenfels (5th year). ) as well as in the 11th year to various destinations as part of a study trip. JEG Elsenfeld cooperates with schools in Canada, England , France , Spain and India for student exchange programs , so that visits and return visits take place regularly.

school-building
The school complex, which also includes the secondary school, was rebuilt from 2004 to 2009. The new building was put into operation at the beginning of the 2006/2007 school year, the renovated old building was inaugurated on October 19, 2007, and in 2011 the administration wing was renewed in the last construction phase. The equipment of the Julius-Echter-Gymnasium includes a cafeteria, two computer rooms, a study library, subject rooms for biology, chemistry, physics, music and art as well as a multi-purpose room, which was opened in 2007 in memory of the poet Hilde Domin , who has been working since the 80s read four times at the JEG with great success and held workshops, was given the name Hilde-Domin-Saal .
