Julius Babatunde Adelakun

Julius Babatunde Adelakun (born November 1934 in Oniganbari ) is the former bishop of Oyo .

Life

Julius Babatunde Adelakun was ordained a priest on June 27, 1965 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Oyo diocese . Paul VI appointed him on November 16, 1972 auxiliary bishop in Oyo and titular bishop of Thunigaba .

The Bishop of Oyo, Owen McCoy MAfr , ordained him episcopally on February 11 the next year ; Co- consecrators were Michael Patrick Olatunji Fagun , Bishop of Ekiti , and Anthony Olubunmi Okogie , Auxiliary Bishop in Lagos .

On April 13, 1973 he was appointed Bishop of Oyo. On November 4, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
