Julius Berendes (medic)
Julius Berendes (born March 2, 1907 in Düsseldorf , † January 13, 2001 in Weinheim ) was a German ENT doctor and university professor.
Live and act
Julius Berendes completed his habilitation in 1938 at the Medical Faculty of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1944 he took over the management of the ENT department of the Mannheim City Hospitals, where he was elected Medical Director in 1951. In 1957 he was appointed to the chair for ENT medicine at the Philipps University of Marburg . In his scientific work he dealt mainly with questions of rehabilitation medicine. In addition, he was committed to topics in particular in the field of disorders of the larynx function as well as in the field of physiology and pathology of the hearing process.
1973 Berendes retired.
From 1952 to 1971 Julius Berendes was President of the German Society for Speech and Voice Medicine (DGSS). In 1966 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
Berendes became a member of the Vineta Heidelberg fraternity in 1926 .
