Julius Conus ( Russian Юлий Эдуардович Конюс , even under the original French name Julius Conus or Jules Conus * January 20 jul. / 1. February  1869 greg. In Moscow , † 3. January 1942 in Melenki ) was a Russian violinist and composer .

Konjus, who was of French descent, studied in Moscow and Paris , and worked for several years in Paris in the orchestra of the opera and as a violin virtuoso. In 1891 he became concertmaster in New York City . From 1893 to 1901 he was a violin teacher at the Moscow Conservatory and became friends with Sergei Rachmaninov . From 1919 he lived in Paris before returning to Moscow in 1939.

In addition to didactic works, he wrote a violin concerto in E minor.

His father Eduard Konjus was a piano teacher, his brother Georgi Konjus a composer and music teacher, his brother Lev Konjus a pianist , and his son Sergei Konjus a pianist and composer.
