Julius Eichelbaum

Julius Eichelbaum (born April 5, 1850 in Insterburg , East Prussia Province , † July 22, 1921 ) was a German judge .

Life

Eichelbaum studied law at the Albertus University in Königsberg and in 1868 became a member of the Littuania free country team . In 1894 he was one of the Lithuanians who joined the SC zu Königsberg as the new Corps Littuania .

The Prussian was sworn in in 1872 and appointed district judge in 1878. District judge since 1883 , he was appointed district judge in 1890 and district judge in 1891. In 1894 he was appointed to the higher court . In Berlin he was in close contact with the sociologist Georg Simmel . In 1904 he came to the Imperial Court . He retired on the New Year of 1920. Although he was baptized as a Protestant, Eichelbaum was regarded by the anti-Semites as a “Jewish lawyer”.

He was married to Käthe, a great niece of Ludwig Herzfeld . He later married Margarethe Bushenius (1854–1915). He had three daughters and the son Ernst Theodor Eichelbaum . The lawyer at the Reichsgericht Martin Meyerowitz was married to Helene, a niece of Eichelbaum.
