Julius Fiebiger
Gottlieb Moritz Julius Fiebiger (born September 5, 1813 in Bautzen , † January 29, 1883 in Dresden ) was a German landscape painter and watercolorist.
Fiebiger studied from 1830 to 1835 at the Royal Saxon Art Academy in Dresden and from December 15, 1835 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich .
In Dresden he mainly dealt with nude and portrait painting, since his studies in Munich he has switched to landscape painting.
He had been based in Dresden since the 1840s and often visited Bautzen. 1847 undertook a study trip to Northern Bohemia, 1851 to the Baltic Sea coast, 1858 to Switzerland,
His works are in the collections of mostly Saxon museums. Many of his landscape paintings were published in the form of postcards, mostly by the art publisher Arthur Rehn & Co. Berlin.
