Julius Frey (actor)

Julius Frey (born January 12, 1901 in Munich ; † November 29, 1948 there ) was a German stage and film actor .

Live and act

Frey played on stages in his hometown Munich all his life. He began in the extras series of the Bavarian State Theater in the 1920s and in the same decade also appeared on this stage with small speaking roles. In 1930 he became a regular member of the ensemble there before Frey moved to the Staatsschauspiel at the outbreak of World War II. After 1945 he was seen at the municipal theaters of Munich for the remaining three years of his life.

For several years Julius Frey also worked with small roles in Munich film productions. There he played simple people of all kinds, often with a Bavarian touch. He plays landlords, sergeants, porters and butchers. Frey found no connection with the post-war film; he died just 47 years old in autumn 1948.

He was most recently registered in Munich at Ganghofer Strasse 50.
