Julius Gebhard von Hoym

Julius Gebhard Graf von Hoym (born November 17, 1721 in Droyßig , † February 14, 1769 in Dresden ) was a real secret councilor from the Electoral Saxony and owner of the dominions of Droyzut , Schlawentzitz , Altsammern and Oppurg.

Life

He was the son of Count Ludwig Gebhard von Hoym and his wife, born Countess von Werthern . Like most members of his family, he embarked on a career typical of his ancestors at the Saxon court of the Wettiner in Dresden. He became a real Privy Councilor .

Several funeral sermons appeared in print on the occasion of his funeral.

He was married to Christiane Charlotte Sophie geb. von Dieskau , who lived as a widow at the castle in Oppurg after his death. He left Amalia Louisa Mariane Christiane Charlotte Countess von Hoym, born on October 6, 1763 in Maßbach, as the only daughter and heiress. Since he had no male heirs, his mansion fell to his younger brother Gotthelf Adolph von Hoym .
