Julius Herner

Julius Herner (* 27. July 1866 in Hanover ; † 13. December 1950 ) was a German solo - cellist .

Life

Julius Herner was born in 1866 in the royal seat of the Kingdom of Hanover as the son of the Kapellmeister and composer Karl Herner, who was employed at the Royal Court Theater .

Herner was a student of Karl Schröder and Julius Klengel . In 1887 he appeared in London as a soloist on cello in the orchestra of August Manns in the Crystal Palace .

At the beginning of the 20th century, Julius Herner worked in the United States of America around 1915 as a permanently engaged solo cellist at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City .

According to Frank Greene's private information on his page musicsack.com , Julius Herner was a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Los Angeles , California from 1920 to 1922 . Accordingly, Herner is said to have died on December 13, 1950.
