Julius Hoffmann (politician)

Julius Hoffmann (born June 10, 1810 in Schalkau , † April 29, 1882 in Eisfeld ) was Bergrat, Lord Mayor of Eisfeld and member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Hoffmann was the son of a lawyer and manor owner. He attended the grammar schools in Schleusingen and Hildburghausen and the Bergakademie in Freiberg . From 1834 to 1837 works clerk at the ironworks in Neusalz and from 1837 to 1846 director of the mining and ironworks in Liswensk in the Ural Mountains in the Russian governorate of Perm . From 1847 he was a member of the assembly of estates in the Duchy of Meiningen, in 1848 a member of the Frankfurt Parliament and in 1859 a co-founder of the National Association . He was also Lord Mayor of Eisfeld and also the fire department commander.

From 1867 to 1871 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and the Customs Parliament for the constituency of Sachsen-Meiningen 1 ( Meiningen , Hildburghausen ) and the National Liberal Party .
