Julius Nicolaus Weisfert

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Julius Nicolaus Weisfert , pseudonym Tintophonius (born July 26, 1873 in Moscow , † after 1933) was a German journalist and editor .

Life

family

The son of the merchant Julius Weisfert , who presumably came from East Prussia , and Luise, b. Schmitt, spent his childhood in Moscow, Graz and Riga . After his father's death he visited in Königsberg the secondary school , but without this complete.

job

After training as a businessman and bookseller , Weisfert became editor of the Königsberger Allgemeine Zeitung in 1896 . The Illustrirte Zeitung , published in Berlin and Leipzig , had already accepted his first article two years earlier . For this paper he also wrote numerous articles after he was employed in Königsberg. Right at the beginning of his career, he created a standard work that is much cited to this day with his biographical-literary lexicon for the capital and residence city of Königsberg and East Prussia .

In 1908 Weisfert became editor-in-chief of the Wilhelmshavener Zeitung . In addition, from 1911, he took on duties as editor of the magazine Sportsfreund . Weisfert was chairman of the Liberal Association for Wilhelmshaven and Rüstringen he founded from 1909 to 1911.

Weisfert left Wilhelmshaven in 1918 to take up an editorial position at the Norddeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung , which was published in Berlin and renamed the Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung after the end of the First World War . In 1922 he was also editor and co-editor of the short-lived magazine ERKA of the Red Cross.

Weisfert was most recently editor at Neuköllner Tageblatt from 1927 . The last time it was found in Berlin was in 1933. He is no longer mentioned by Degener in 1935. It can therefore be assumed that Weisfert died between 1933 and 1935.
