Julius Parow

Julius Parow (born April 6, 1901 , † 1985 ) was a German medic .

Life

After studying in Greifswald , Leipzig and Oslo , he first worked as a general practitioner in Svolvær / Norway . He obtained the German state examination and license to practice medicine in Greifswald. 1932 doctorate Parow with the work over a case of Plasmocythom of the bone marrow: At the same time a contribution to the clinic and pathology of myeloma . After 1947 he worked at a children's sanatorium for bronchial asthma on the Baltic Sea, until 1954 he was head of the institute for "Functional Respiratory Therapy " set up for him at the Berlin West Health Insurance Institution . Since 1954 he was self-employed in the Black Forest . Since 1935 he has carried out private scientific research on the functional-anatomical basis of breathing. From this he developed a therapy program to restore and improve breathing. He published works on breathing and his definition of normal breathing.

After his death, his student Margot Scheufele-Osenberg (1913–2005) founded a teaching institute for further training in functional respiratory therapy in Düsseldorf in 1988 at his request . Ruth Brüne and Christiane Kumetat have been running this institute in Osnabrück since October 2003 under the name “atemart” .
