Juozas Žemaitis
Juozas Žemaitis MIC (born August 30, 1926 in Griškabūdis ) is the former bishop of Vilkaviškis .
Life
Juozas Žemaitis joined the Congregation of Marians in and received on 25 September 1949, the priestly ordination . John Paul II appointed him on March 10, 1989 Apostolic Administrator of Vilkaviškis and Titular Bishop of Tabaicara .
The Archbishop of Kaunas , Vincentas Cardinal Sladkevicius MIC, donated him episcopal ordination on March 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Julijonas Steponavičius , Archbishop of Vilnius , Juozas Preikšas , Apostolic Administrator of Panevėžys , and Vladas Michelevičius , Auxiliary Bishop in Kaunas .
On December 24, 1991 he was appointed Bishop of Vilkaviškis. On January 5, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
