description

The Danish company Faaborg Værft took over Jupiter Værftet on Bogø in 1979 and developed their sport boat models into work boats . The new designs were named after the name of the acquired shipyard and the length of the boat in feet . From 1990 to 1993 ten vehicles of the type Jupiter 33 and twelve vehicles of the type Jupiter 40 from this series were delivered to the German waterways and shipping authorities .

The ships are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic and are powered by a marine diesel engine that acts on a 3-bladed fixed propeller . The drive power varies, depending on the area of application, between 72 and 144 kilowatts . As maneuvering aids , the ships are equipped with a transverse thruster and a Becker rudder.

Characteristic for this class are the outside steering position ( flybridge ) and the reinforced rubbing rail . The inside steering position, seating, a pantry , a toilet and a storage room are located in the deck structure . At the bow there is a shoulder for pushing ships without their own propulsion .

Since 2013, the ships have been gradually decommissioned and sold through Vebeg . They are usually replaced by units of the Spatz class.
