Jurassic World Evolution is a video game by Frontier Developments , from the genre economic simulation . Its content is based on the film Jurassic World and its sequel Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom . It was released on June 12, 2018 for PlayStation 4 , Xbox One, and Windows .
Gameplay
Jurassic World Evolution is an economic simulation that allows the player to build their own theme park in the style of Jurassic World , with both visitor attractions and research facilities. The game is set on six islands, the Las Cinco Muertes archipelago and Isla Nublar, both fictional islands or groups of islands, some of which are already known from the films. The object of the game is to build a dinosaur park with 5 stars in the overall rating that extends across all the islands.
A large part of the game is made up of the living dinosaurs that the player displays in enclosures. There are 38 different types available in the standard edition and 43 in the deluxe edition, and the free expansion “Fallen Kingdom” provides 6 more types of dinosaurs.
The player builds his own amusement park consisting of dinosaur enclosures, research facilities and amusement park buildings, such as B. Souvenir shops , kiosks and food stalls. He has to keep a balance between three branches of park development:
- Safety Preventing dinosaur outbreaks or human harm.
- Entertainment Owning many dinosaurs and entertainment buildings
- Science The study of as many species of dinosaurs as possible.
The player has to complete missions, get raw materials and money as well as dig up fossils in order to get new genetic information that can be used to bring new dinosaurs to life.
The player is guided through the game by different people, from the films, e.g. B. by Dr. Ian Malcolm from the older Jurassic Park parts, or Owen Grady. Other characters also appear during the course of the game, representing different branches within the park. Each of these characters tries to bring his personal goals closer to the player and to convince him of their implementation, which achieves different results in the development of the park. The whole thing is implemented by various tasks of the people that have to be fulfilled in order to unlock new content. Depending on which tasks one fulfills, the player's reputation improves or deteriorates with the corresponding people.
Another feature is the INGEN database, which contains a lot of information about the universe of the Jurassic Park movies as well as facts about the archaeological sites and dinosaurs present in the game. The visitor rating of the park is also important: the more satisfied the visitor, the higher the rating. The other islands can be unlocked with a high rating.

Jurassic World Evolution was developed and published by Frontier Developments . It is based on the movie Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom . About two years before the film was released, NBCUniversal was looking for a development studio to develop a game based on the film. Since Frontier Developments planned to develop a dinosaur game anyway , NBCUniversal approached them with the task of developing such a game.
For the first time Jurassic World Evolution ahead of Gamescom announced in 2017 for the year 2018th The game was developed for Windows , PlayStation 4 and Xbox One .
For the release on June 12, 2018, the game was only available as a download on Steam , PlayStation Network and the Xbox Store . A retail edition of the Xbox and Playstation version was released on July 3, 2018 . In addition to the standard edition, there is also a deluxe edition of the game that contains five other types of dinosaurs.
On June 22, 2018, at the same time as the film Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom, a free expansion under the name "Fallen Kingdom" was released, which contains six other dinosaur species from the film.
