Juri Batukov according sec transcription Juri Batukow , Russian Юрий Батуков (* 1962 in Syktywkar , Komi ) is a Russian opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

During his studies at the Moscow Conservatory, he made his debut in his hometown as " Eugene Onegin ". There he sang “Count Almaviva” in Figaro's wedding and “Germont” in La traviata . These first successes were followed by an engagement at the music theater in Sverdlovsk , where he appeared on stage as "Escamillo" in Carmen .

In Germany he was initially engaged at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden . Parallel to this activity, guest appearances have taken him to Lisbon, the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Lincoln Center Festival in New York , as well as to Avignon (Eugen Onegin). At the Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg he sang the “Mandryka” ( Arabella ) and the “Franck” ( Die tote Stadt ) by Korngold , as well as at the Théâtre Châtelet in Paris, at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris the “Förster” in Das cunning Little Fox by Leoš Janáček . In the 2007/08 season he made his debut at the Vienna State Opera . He has been working at Theater Erfurt since 2011 .
