Juri Vjatschelawowitsch Bogatow ( Russian Юрий Вячелавович Богатов , English transcription: Yury Bogatov , born October 21, 1986 in Moscow ) is a Russian beach volleyball player .

Career

Bogatow played his first open tournament on the FIVB World Tour in 2006 in Saint Petersburg with Pawel Karpuchin . In the same year he was with Sergei Prokopjew ninth at the Junior World Championship in Mysłowice . In 2007 he first played two open tournaments with Roman Sergejewitsch Arkajew , before going back to Saint Petersburg for the first time with Ruslan Dajanow . After playing his first Grand Slam in Moscow with Sergei Kostjuchin in 2008 , he completed a few more tournaments with Dajanow in 2009. He then formed a new permanent duo with Bogatow and immediately reached ninth place at the Grand Slam in Moscow. At the European Championships in Sochi in 2009 , the duo also competed with home advantage, but lost all three preliminary round matches and finished the tournament in 13th place. Then Prokopjew / Bogatow were fourth in the Sanya Open. In 2010 they came in fifth and ninth at the Grand Slams in Moscow and Gstaad . In Berlin they reached the quarter-finals of the EM 2010 , which they lost in three sets against Kolodinski / Koschkarjow .

In 2011 Bogatow first played a few tournaments with Alexei Pastuchow . At the World Championships in Rome Prokopjew / Bogatow competed together again. In their preliminary group, however, they did not win a set. In 2012 they finished ninth in Moscow and fifth at the CEV Continental Cup in Alanya . In the meantime, Bogatow also competed several times with Dmitri Nikolajewitsch Barsuk between 2011 and 2013 . This duo achieved 17th place as the best result. 2013 Bogatow played again with Prokopjew. The reunited duo finished ninth in the Fuzhou Open. At the World Championships in Stare Jabłonki Prokopjew / Bogatow were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
