Yuri Bukov
Juri Bukow (also Youri Boukoff ; Bulgarian Юри Буков ; born May 1, 1923 in Sofia , Bulgaria , † January 8, 2006 in Paris , France ) was a Bulgarian pianist .
Life
Bukov was born in Sofia on May 1, 1923. At the age of 15 he received his first international award and a scholarship from the Conservatoire de Paris , where he became a student of Yves Nat . In the 1940s he met important artists such as the orchestra leader George Enescu and the pianists Edwin Fischer and Marguerite Long . He was the first European pianist to tour China . In the last years of his life, Bukow largely withdrew from the public .
His recording of Chopin's Etudes op.10 is fabulous .
