Yuri Michailowitsch Steklow
Yuri Mikhailovich Steklov ( Russian Юрий Михайлович Стеклов * August 15 . Jul / 27. August 1873 greg. In Odessa ; † 15. September 1941 ) was a Russian and Soviet revolutionary, journalist and historian.
Steklow joined the Bolsheviks in 1903 . In 1917 he was editor-in-chief of the newly founded newspaper Izvestia . Steklov wrote biographers of Bakunin and Herzen and commentaries on Marx and Lenin . In the course of the Stalinist purges he was arrested in February 1938 and died in prison in 1941.
