Justin Friedrich Wilhelm Iken (1726–1805)

Justin Friedrich Wilhelm Iken (born April 14, 1726 in Burgsteinfurt ; † November 3, 1805 in Bremen ) was a lawyer and Bremen councilor and mayor .

biography

Iken was the son of Arnolf Iken, a law firm director from Burgsteinfurt. His first marriage was to the pharmacist's daughter Adelheid Henschen, both had five children, and his second marriage to the mayor's daughter Helia Klugkist, both of whom had a daughter. Senator Jacob Ludwig Iken (1758–1811) was a son from his first marriage, daughter Rebecca was married to Senator Engelbert Wichelhausen (1748–1819).

Iken graduated from the Illustre grammar school in Bremen from 1743 . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the University of Marburg from 1748 and at the University of Göttingen from 1749 . He received his doctorate in 1751. jur.

In 1762 he became councilor in Bremen in the Bremen council . From November 28, 1787 to May 26, 1802 he was the successor of Johann Pundsack Bremen's mayor ; Daniel Klugkist followed him in office.
