Justin Tokimitsu Nozuka (born September 29, 1988 in New York ) is an American - Canadian singer and songwriter with influences from blues and soul .

Career

Nozuka's first album was released by a smaller music label in 2006 because Nozuka had turned down a relationship with Universal Records because he feared he would lose his freedom and the rights to his music. The album name Holly is also his mother's name, the songs on it were written and composed by Nozuka himself. He had written older songs like Supposed To Grow Old at the age of 15. On October 16, 2007, the CD Borrowed Tunes II: A Tribute to Neil Young was released , here were various Canadian artists with cover versions of Neil Young to be found. Nozuka contributed the song Bad Fog of Loneliness to this CD .

In 2007 Nozuka went on tour outside of North America, his debut album was also released in Germany in the same year. In April 2008 he was the support act of the Canadian rock band Simple Plan .

His title After Tonight reached the German single charts when it was released as a single in 2009 (number 93). He gained greater fame through the interpretation of Roman Lob during the Eurovision casting Our Star for Baku . After the broadcast, After Tonight reached number 51 on the official charts.

Nozuka lives in Toronto and is the nephew of American actor Kevin Bacon .
