Justus Sinold called Schütz
Justus Sinold called Schütz (born April 8, 1592 in Butzbach , † December 12, 1657 in Gießen ) was a lawyer and chancellor of the University of Gießen .
Life
His father was Helwig Sinold called Schütz (1560–1643), citizen, innkeeper and cellar to Butzbach. Justus studied law in Giessen, Marburg, Cologne and Pont-à-Mousson . He received his doctorate in Gießen in 1619 and became an associate professor at the University of Marburg-Gießen in Marburg in 1625. The following year he became a full professor. In 1629 Georg II of Hessen-Darmstadt appointed him a councilor and sent him on numerous diplomatic trips. In 1640 he became Vice Chancellor of the University and Primary Professor of the Faculty of Law. At the same time he took part in the preliminary negotiations for the Peace of Westphalia .
When the University of Giessen was re-established in 1650, he became its chancellor.

He was married to Anna Margarethe Vietor (1601–1670). She was the daughter of the superintendent in Giessen Jeremias Vietor (1556-1609). The couple had the following children.
