history

Vetzberg Castle , built around 1100 or in the first half of the 12th century, is visible from afar . It is located on the top of the extinct volcano of the same name, Vetzberg . In the local area there is a castle gate, which connects the upper village with the lower village.

Approx. 3 km away is the Dünsberg with rich remains of a Celtic oppidum .

Around Vetzberg there are numerous remains of military installations from the Seven Years' War , e.g. B. in the neighboring village of Rodheim-Bieber the Sternschanze . However, the ski jump built in Vetzberg is no longer visible.
