Köşektaş is a Turkish village in Cappadocia . It belongs to Nevşehir Province and is located in Hacıbektaş County . In 2008 453 people lived there. The name of the village ("Kamelfohlenstein") goes back to two different sized boulders north of the village. These are considered camel and camel stuffing.

The village was probably founded in the 19th century. In 1872 the village is said to have consisted of 38 houses with around 900 inhabitants.

Köşektaş consists of 2 main districts; Köy and Karşı Mahalle and hasn't had a school for a long time. The children are taken to the primary school in Hacıbektaş by school bus. The first elementary school was inaugurated in the summer of 1928. 66 years later, in 1994, the primary school in Köşektaş was closed due to the insufficient number of students.
