The Kökpekti ( Kazakh Көкпекті ) is a tributary of the Saissan Lake in eastern Kazakhstan .
The Kökpekti rises in the northwestern foothills of the Tarbagatai mountains in the Audany Scharma . It flows in a north-easterly direction through the steppe landscape. At the administrative center of the same name, Kökpekti , the river turns to the southeast and finally flows into the western end of the Saissansee, which is drained by the Irtysh . The Kökpekti has a length of 206 km. It drains an area of 9030 km². The mean discharge at the Kökpekti gauge 78 km above the mouth is 4.4 m³ / s. The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . In the spring months, a mean monthly discharge of 26.34 m³ / s (April) and 12.20 m³ / s (May) was measured.
