The Haakon VII Sea ( Norwegian Kong Håkon VII Hav ) is a section of the Southern Ocean off the Princess Martha , Princess Astrid and Princess Ragnhild coasts of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . The marginal sea extends from latitude 20 ° west to 45 ° east. As a result, it overlaps with the Lasarew , Riiser-Larsen and western halves of the cooperation lake .

Norwegian scientists named this Randmeer after Haakon VII (1872–1957), Norway's first king after independence in 1905.
