The Königliche Zinnhütte was a mining facility in Johanngeorgenstadt , Erzgebirgskreis , Saxony .

The hut for processing tin from the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area, which belongs to the Kingdom of Saxony , was located west of Schwarzenberger Strasse not far from today's Johanngeorgenstadt train station. It was located right next to the Finkmühle and was operated by water from a ditch whose weir was in the Schwarzwasser not far from the St. Georg hat house.

The Königliche Zinnhütte replaced the Zinnhütte in Unterjugel and became necessary when, after the union of the mining districts Johanngeorgenstadt , Schwarzenberg and Eibenstock, there was an increased need for pewter smelting. Construction began in 1797.

In 1798, the plant started operations as the Kursächsische Zinnhütte, at the same time as the old tin works and the two tin works in Eibenstock and Schwarzenberg / Erzgeb. set. From 1806 it was the Königliche Zinnhütte. Due to the decline in mining in the middle of the 19th century, the operation of this tin smelter also came to a standstill. In 1897 it finally ceased operations. After a large fire destroyed the Finkmühle, the buildings were completely demolished in the late 19th century. In their place, two railway houses were built for employees of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, which were inhabited until the 1990s. After that, the buildings were left to decay and partially demolished.
