The Köpenicker Zupforchester is an orchestra from Berlin-Köpenick . The orchestra consists of about two dozen musicians. One of the main instruments used include mandolin , mandola , guitar and bass , sometimes reinforced by transverse and recorder , clarinet , oboe , cello , piano , harpsichord , accordion or singing .

The orchestra plays music from different eras, from the baroque to the present day, as well as folk, Latin American and entertaining works.

history

The Köpenicker Zupforchester was founded in 1950 under the name "Mandolinen-Orchester Köpenick" and was initially directed by Fritz Fickler. From 1967 to 2007 Walter Neugebauer directed the orchestra. In 1993 the orchestra was affiliated to the Köpenick Music School - today the Joseph Schmidt Music School in Berlin-Treptow-Köpenick . The musicians can look back on numerous appearances on GDR television, three CD productions, as well as successful concert tours to Hungary, Spain and Sweden, among others, and successful participation in the German orchestra competition six times .

From 2007 to 2011 the artistic direction was in the hands of Ute Franzke and from 2011 to 2013 Panagiotis Papadopoulus conducted the orchestra. In November 2013 the composer and conductor Erik Kross took over the musical direction.

On March 10, 2003, the registered association "Köpenicker Zupforchester eV" was founded from the existing orchestra
