Keneti James "KJ" Fitzgerald Apa (born June 17, 1997 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand actor .

Life

KJ Apa was born in Auckland in June 1997 to Tessa and Keneti Apa . He grew up with his two older sisters, Misraik and Timena. At the age of 14, he recorded and released a solo guitar album.

In his native New Zealand, Apa became known in 2013 for the soap opera Shortland Street . In it he played the role of Kane Jenkins from December 2013 to July 2015 . He then had a leading role in the television series The Cul De Sac . Since the end of January 2017 Apa plays the main role of Archie Andrews in The CW - Youth Series Riverdale , an adaptation of the Archie comic series . At the beginning of 2017 he was seen at the side of Britt Robertson and Dennis Quaid in the feature film Bailey - A Friend for Life .
