KASA (derived from Ka rtoffel sa lat) is a German punk band . The texts address social and societal grievances or individual emotional and experiential worlds of adolescents and young adults. The music style is a melodic punk rock. The later pieces also show influences from hip-hop , ska , reggae and swing .

Band history

KASA was founded as a school band in Letter near Hanover in 1997. All band members - Atti Akropolis (guitar, vocals), Basti Bassgotti (bass, backings), Señor Stückchen (drums), Gogo- or Robert (backings) as well as Olly von und zu Rindtschwain (lead guitar), who left in 2005, and a short-term member Benny (vocals) were students of one year at the Georg-Büchner-Gymnasium in Seelze. This makes KASA - after the affluent children disbanded in 2005 - probably the longest-serving school band in Germany. After appearances in youth and cultural centers in Lower Saxony and Westphalia, concerts in southern and eastern Germany as well as Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg in clubs, event centers and festivals were added from 2003 . The distribution of the music titles is high in the scene, as the older self-published pieces are made available for download free of charge by the band at mp3.de. From 2004 to 2006, KASA was almost continuously represented in the MP3 punk charts with various titles.
