The KAwZ-3244 ( Russian КАвЗ-3244 ) is a minibus produced by the Russian manufacturer Kurganski Avtobusny Sawod . It is based on the ZIL-5301 truck and takes over essential parts of it. The vehicle should not be confused with the visually very similar ZIL-3250 minibus , which was developed on the basis of the same truck, but by a different manufacturer.

The KAwZ-3244 was developed in 1996. It is unclear exactly when series production began, but very few vehicles were produced until the beginning of 1999. Around 2001 there was a revised variant of the model, which was designated KAwZ-32441 or KAwZ-324410. It was mainly characterized by a longer body, which allowed more passengers to be carried. It replaced the short version and was built until around 2006.
Exactly how many vehicles were built is unknown. Registration dates of 660 copies are known, 435 of them from the first and 225 from the second version.
The vehicle is based on the chassis of the ZIL-5301 truck and takes over essential technical components from it. The motorization is the same, the gearbox is from the predecessor ZIL-130 . The entire driver's cab was taken over from the truck, only the bus body was added at KAwZ. This consists of a tubular steel frame that was partially galvanized and then clad. The buses are used in suburban traffic and as large-capacity taxis.
The bus has three doors, whereby a regular passenger door is available for the passenger compartment and the two doors of the truck cab have remained. Visually and technically, the vehicles are very similar to the ZIL-3250, another bus that also uses the ZIL-5301 truck as a platform. However, they differ in the details on the bus body. The most noticeable distinguishing feature is the additional window in the lower area of the passenger door, which is only available on the KAwZ-3244.
