The KHS GmbH is a supplier of filling and packaging solutions for glass, PET , Keg and cans.

The company develops and produces complete systems for the beverage, food and non-food industries and is a 100 percent subsidiary of Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke GmbH, which is part of the Salzgitter Group .

history

KHS GmbH was created in 1993 from a merger of Holstein & Kappert GmbH, founded in Dortmund in 1868, and Seitz-Werke GmbH, later Seitz Enzinger Noll AG (SEN), Bad Kreuznach, founded in Kreuznach in 1887 .

From 1977 to 1982 H&K (100%) and SEN (90%) were taken over by Klöckner Werke AG, Duisburg. In 1993 the company H&K and SEN merged to form KHS Maschinen- und Anlagenbau AG, Dortmund. In 2007, Salzgitter AG acquired the majority stake in Klöckner-Werke. In 2008 the companies KHS Corpoplast, KHS Plasmax and KHS Moldtec were integrated into Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke GmbH. In 2010 it was converted from KHS AG to KHS GmbH. In 2011, KHS becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Salzgitter Klöckner-Werke GmbH

KHS GmbH is headquartered in Dortmund . One of the five German production facilities is also located there, with others in Bad Kreuznach , Hamburg , Kleve and Worms .

The competence centers for cleaning and pasteurization technology , for labeling and inspection technology as well as for container and bundle transport are located in Dortmund .

Bad Kreuznach specializes in beverage filling technology including aseptic : Filtration, beverage mixing technology, high gravity brewing systems, short-term heating and degassing systems as well as rinsing, filling and closing technology for bottles and cans. The Keg Technology Competence Center is also located here.

At the Kleve location, KHS Verpackungstechnik produces with a focus on the most modern end-of-line packaging.

Palletizing technology as well as packing and unpacking solutions are the focus of activities at the Worms location.

With KHS Corpoplast and KHS Plasmax, the focus in Hamburg is on stretch blow molding and barrier technology as well as the development of new plastic bottles such as the premium PET bottle FreshSafe-PET®.

Foreign production sites of KHS GmbH are in Brazil (Sao Paulo), USA (Waukesha WI, Sarasota FL), Mexico (Zinacantepec), India (Ahmedabad) and China (Suzhou). Worldwide there are branches in 83 countries. All products manufactured at the individual production sites are sold through the internal sales organization of KHS GmbH, through sales offices and through the subsidiaries.

Products

The company offers turnkey lines for a wide variety of industries, containers and processes in beverage production. Containers include glass bottles, PET, cans, kegs and aluminum bottles. Every KHS system consists of individual machines covering all processes in beverage production: from PET bottle production, filling, labeling, packaging and palletizing to inspection and complete cleaning.

Another core area of ​​KHS GmbH are process systems for the simplification and more efficient design of complex beverage production processes. The different processes relate to cleaning systems, beverage mixes and the conception and design of production plants.
