KiKA LIVE is a magazine for children and young people between the ages of ten and 15, which has been broadcast on KiKA since 2004 .

The program was initially broadcast from Monday to Friday at 4:00 p.m. with a broadcast time of 25 minutes. At the moment it is only broadcast from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday (until the end of March 2019 on Sundays) at 8:00 p.m. with a transmission time of 15 minutes, sometimes up to 60 minutes (Saturday 10 minutes). It is the follow-up program to Kikania .

The program mainly deals with topics that the target group encounters in everyday life. Sometimes there are also sporting competitions that take place over several programs.

Moderators

In the beginning, three moderators took turns every week. These were initially Karsten Blumenthal , Lukas Koch and Pia Ampaw , the latter left the program for the third episode. Blumenthal and Koch moderated on a weekly basis until the end of 2004, when Blumenthal left the station. In 2005 Tanja Mairhofer joined them. So Koch and Mairhofer moderated the show together. On March 9, 2009 there were new episodes and a new team of moderators, consisting of Mairhofer and Ben . From November to December 2009 Ben moderated alone, since January 2010 Jessica Schöne has been presenting the show alongside Ben.

Best voice

From 2005 to 2011, in the “Best Voice” competition, KiKA invited young talented singers and school bands between the ages of ten and 17 to apply for the casting. In 2010, the girl group Saphir was founded from the last four winners .
