KPMG Football Clubs' Valuation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the Football Clubs' Valuation of the auditing company KPMG , the company values of 32 of the strongest football clubs in Europe are listed and compared every year . It was first published in 2016.

Method and criteria

In contrast to the Deloitte Football Money League or the Forbes Soccer Team Values , here it is not the revenue or market value but the enterprise value that is compared, and the list is strictly limited to European clubs ( UEFA member associations). The clubs to be included in the ranking are selected on the basis of turnover, sporting success ( UEFA club coefficient ) and, if applicable, social media performance.

The list is published annually in early summer on the basis of the values from the beginning of the year.

Ranking 2017

Manchester United is the first club to exceed 3 billion euros and all clubs in the top 10 are now valued at at least 1 billion euros each. Most (26) of the 32 clubs listed come from the 5 major European leagues. However, the Turkish Super Lig with three teams has just as many members as the Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1 . The Eredivisie has two teams and the Primeira Liga has one team.
