Miss Europe 1931

Jeanne Juilla, Miss France and Miss Europe 1931

The competition for Miss Europe 1931 was the third held by the Comité pour l'election de Miss Europe . This was launched in 1928 by the French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874-1946) and organized the competition continuously until 1938. Waleffe had previously founded the competition for Miss France .

The candidates were selected in their countries of origin with the participation of major newspapers or illustrated magazines, for example:
Germany: Das Magazin , Estonia: Päevaleht , France: Le Journal (published by Waleffe), (Exile) Russia: La Russie illustrée ( Иллюстрированная Россия ), Hungary: Színházi élet .

The event took place on February 5, 1931 in the editorial offices of the Paris newspaper Le Journal . There were 16 applicants.
