Miss Estonia
Miss Estonia is a national beauty pageant for unmarried women in Estonia that was first held in 1923. Domestically, he is also called Eesti Miss Estonia .
The first organizer in 1923 and 1925 was the film company Estonia-Film , which was looking for young talent. It was followed by the daily Päevaleht from 1929 to 1932 . The competition was not held for several decades. From 1940 Estonia was part of the Soviet Union . The Second World War and the rule of communism prevented further events. Only shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union did political liberalization ( perestroika ) permit a new beginning.
The finalists take part in the international elections for Miss World , Miss Universe , Miss Europe and Miss Baltic Sea .
