Britta Wikström, Vice- Miss Finland and Miss Europe 1937.

The competition for Miss Europe 1937 was the ninth held by the Comité pour l'election de Miss Europe . This was launched in 1928 by the French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874-1946) and organized the competition continuously until 1938. Waleffe had previously founded the competition for Miss France .

The candidates were selected in their countries of origin with the participation of major newspapers or illustrated magazines.

The event took place on October 24, 1937 in Constantine (Algeria) - in the Colisée (on the ground floor of the Casino Municipal ). There were 10 applicants. The Dutch candidate did not run because her mother did not allow her to travel. The other nine met in Paris on October 15 , where they were presented to the press. They then traveled together to Constantine via Marseille, Tunis and Bône. The placements of the participants are not known apart from the winner.
