The competition for Miss Europe 1932 was the fourth held by the Comité pour l'election de Miss Europe . This was launched in 1928 by the French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874-1946) and organized the competition continuously until 1938. Waleffe had previously founded the competition for Miss France .
The candidates were selected in their home or country of residence with the participation of major newspapers or illustrated magazines:
Belgium: Patria , Denmark: BT , Germany: Das Magazin , England: Miss Modern , France: Comœdia , Greece: Union of Greek Daily Newspapers, Italy: a committee of Italian painters and sculptors, Yugoslavia: Vrémé ( Време ), Poland: Kine , Romania : Universul , (Exile) Russia: La Russie illustrée ( Иллюстрированная Россия ), Spain: Ahora , Hungary: Színházi élet . Candidates for Argentina and Peru were born in these countries but were elected from the Hispanic American colony in Europe under the auspices of the Spanish newspaper Ahora . No information was given about the participant from Czechoslovakia. In addition, a nameless Miss Macédoine was announced, who should have been elected in Saloniki, by the Union of Greek daily newspapers (like Miss Greece).
The event took place on February 12, 1932 at the Negresco luxury hotel in Nice . The 16 applicants met beforehand in Paris , where they were presented to the press at a ball in the opera . Then they traveled together. The placements of the participants are not known apart from the winner.
