Miss Europe 1991
The competition for Miss Europe 1991 was the thirty-fifth since 1948 organized by the Mondial Events Organization (MEO). It was founded by the French Roger Zeiler and Claude Berr, was based in Paris and arranged the competition until 2002.
The candidates had been selected in their countries of origin by national organizing committees that had concluded license agreements with MEO. It does not always have to be the first place in your national competition.
Miss Europe 1990/91
The event took place on June 29, 1991 in the Senegalese capital Dakar . There were 27 applicants. The competition was canceled in 1989 and 1990, probably because of the Gulf War . That is why MEO called the winner “Miss Europe 1990/91”.
The winner Susanne Petry was later disqualified and the title awarded to the runner-up Katerina Michalopoulou.
