The competition for Miss Europe 1938 was the tenth and last held by the Comité pour l'election de Miss Europe . This was launched in 1928 by the French journalist Maurice de Waleffe (1874-1946) and organized the competition continuously until 1938. Waleffe had previously founded the competition for Miss France .

The candidates were selected in their countries of origin with the participation of major newspapers or illustrated magazines.

The event took place in Copenhagen on September 10, 1938 and was the last before World War II . There were 12 applicants. The placements of the participants are not known apart from the winner.

A.Yevgeniya Dashkevich was a Russian exile in Paris; there were no general elections in the USSR .
B.Elections for Miss Spain did not take place after 1936. It is not known where and how they qualified.

  1. The website of Miss España only names names up to 1935. After that, there were no contests in the country - probably because of the civil war : winners 1929–1935 at missespana.com ( Memento from December 22, 2011 in the Internet Archive ). Nevertheless, candidates for Spain took part in the Miss Europe election until 1938. Where and how they qualified is not documented.
