The KT Bank AG is a bank approved as a deposit credit institution in Germany since March 16, 2015, based in Frankfurt am Main . It is a subsidiary of Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası A.Ş. ( German "Kuwaitisch-Türkische Beteiligungsbank AG" ) based in Istanbul .
Business activity
KT Bank AG offers products and services based on the principles of Islamic banking . Investments are made in real goods and there is a negative list of sectors in which no investments are made. This includes sectors such as the tobacco and arms industry, but also the alcohol and pornography segments .
history
KT Bank AG emerged from a branch of the parent company that was opened in Mannheim in 2004 and had been approved for third-country deposit brokerage since 2010.
The parent company Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası is majority owned by Bank Kuwait Finance House (KFH) in Kuwait , further investments are held by the Kuwaiti state social security PIFSS, the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah and the Turkish state foundation administration Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü (VGM) in Ankara .
At the beginning of October 2017, KT Bank AG expanded its branch network to include another branch. There are also branches in Frankfurt, Berlin, Mannheim, Cologne and Munich.
KT Bank AG received the "Best Up-And-Coming Financial Institution in the World 2017" award from Global Finance Magazine.
