Kaare Lien , partly also Kåre Lien (born November 9, 1935 in Skoger , Norway ) is a former Canadian ski jumper .

Career

Lien, who emigrated to Canada from Norway, started working for the Canadian Association in the 1960s after his naturalization. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1962 in Zakopane , Poland , he finished 55th out of 59 starters from the large hill after jumps on 80 and 84.5 meters. Shortly before he finished 58th of 62 starters on the normal hill.

At the Four Hills Tournament 1963/64 Lien started to prepare for the Olympic Games on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck . However, he did not get past 49th place and with this result finished 80th in the tour's overall ranking. At the following Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , he finished 43rd in jumping from the normal hill after two jumps on 72 and one jump on 69 meters. From the large hill he was in 45th place in the end.
