Kaba Atsushi

Kaba Atsushi ( Japanese 蒲 穆 ; born January 15, 1879 in Fukui Prefecture ; † May 21, 1960 ) was a Japanese lieutenant general in the Imperial Japanese Army .

Life

After attending school, Kaba Atsushi began training at the Army Officer School (Rikugun Shikan Gakkō) , which he finished in 1900. He was then taken over as a lieutenant in the Imperial Japanese Army and later found use as an officer. He then attended from 1906 the Army College (Rikugun Daigakkō) , which he graduated in 1909. He then found further employment as an officer and staff officer and was seconded to the Army General Staff between August 10, 1920 and December 25, 1924 . After his promotion to colonel on February 8, 1922, he was aide-de-camp of Prince Higashikuni Naruhiko from August 15, 1922 to December 15, 1924 .

Subsequently, between December 15, 1924 and March 2, 1926, Kaba acted as commander of the 5th Cavalry Regiment and, after being promoted to major general from March 2, 1926 to June 16, 1927, was assigned to the 8th Division , the so-called "Zedern- Division". He was then commander of the 3rd Cavalry Brigade between June 16, 1927 and April 20, 1928, and most recently from March 8 to April 20, 1928, seconded to the main arsenal of the army. After he was a representative of the Imperial Japanese Army at the League of Nations between April 20, 1928 and August 1, 1930 , he was employed in the personnel department of the General Staff between August 1, 1930 and August 1, 1931. After his promotion to Lieutenant General on August 1, 1931, he served from August 1, 1931 to April 11, 1932 as head of the transport department of the General Staff.

Subsequently, Lieutenant General Kaba Atsushi took over on April 11, 1932 the post of commander of the 10th Depot Division and held this until March 18, 1933. He was then between March 18, 1933 and August 1, 1935 commander of the 16th division , the so-called "fence division". After he was seconded to the General Staff from August 1 to September 20, 1935 and was in reserve from September 20 to 25, 1935, he retired from active military service on September 25, 1935 and then entered the Retirement.
